About Katherine
Throughout her career, Katherine Sims has focused on bringing people together to solve complex problems and strengthen their communities. Her work spans nonprofit leadership, public service, and community development, helping organizations clarify shared goals, build collaboration, and move from good ideas to meaningful action.
Since 2017, Katherine has worked as a consultant providing facilitation, training, and strategic guidance to nonprofits, municipalities, and mission-driven organizations. She works with boards, staff teams, and community partners to design productive meetings, strengthen leadership, and identify clear next steps that move important work forward.
Katherine previously served as Executive Director of the Northeast Kingdom Collaborative, a regional nonprofit dedicated to economic and community development in rural Vermont. Earlier in her career, she founded Green Mountain Farm-to-School, building it into a nationally recognized nonprofit connecting farms, schools, and communities.
From 2020 to 2024, Katherine served as a Vermont State Representative, where she was a leading voice on rural policy and economic development.
Katherine is currently a seminarian pursuing a Master of Divinity, exploring a call to ministry rooted in community leadership, justice, and rural life. She continues to serve on boards and collaborative initiatives working to strengthen rural communities across Vermont.
